Entering the screen industry can feel daunting and overwhelming, and our purpose is to create a space where emerging filmmakers feel supported, empowered, and free to explore their craft without fear of judgment or limitation.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for voices to be heard, whether that means stepping into the role of Director of Photography for the first time, or gaining hands-on experience in how a full production comes together behind the scenes. We believe in fostering a safe and collaborative environment where emerging creatives can develop their skills, take risks, and grow in confidence, while also being connected to the wider industry.

At its core, Dead Slate Collective is about community. We are a group made up of experienced, and emerging filmmakers united by a drive to tell authentic stories and uplift one another. By creating a space that values both freedom and professionalism, we hope to give local creatives not only a place to practice and experiment, but also a foundation from which they can launch into the broader screen sector.
